Sweet Osmanthus
(Osmanthus fragrans)

An attractive shrub with large, dark green foliage. Throughout summer and autumn it is covered in masses of dainty, creamy white, sweet fragrant flowers. The flowers are used to add sweetness and flavour to Asian teas and cakes. Needs some protection from extreme heat, a partially shaded position is best. Ideal for use as a hedging plant, container specimen or within garden beds where the scent can be enjoyed.
