Hakea laurina

Tall shrub or small tree. Outer branches are slightly pendulous. Bark is reddish brown in colour. The young branchlets are covered in golden-brown hairs. Adult leaves are broad with a curved tip, they are think, leathery and about 8-18cm long. Flowers are bright red in colour with cream styles. Flowering occurs in autumn and winter. Fruits are grey-brown, woody and split into 2 segments each. This plant grows about 3 to 8m high.
