Upright shrub. The leaves are lance-shaped, dark green in colour and about 10cm long. Flowers are produced in whorls, are tube-shaped, orange/red to bright red in colour and are borne from autumn to early winter. These are quite large, roughly 6cm long. Leonotus leonorus grows to about 2m tall and 1m wide.
