Clivia miniata

An evergreen plant originating in Africa, Clivias are slow-growing and unusual for tolerating dry shade. Its leaves are strap-shaped, green in colour and about 60cm long. Flowers are born in clusters of about 20 flowers. They are tubular or funnel-shaped and yellow, red, or orange in colour. Flowers are about 5-7cm long and are borne from spring to summer.
