This is a small but spectacular feature tree in residential gardens and occasionally as a street tree. This eucalypt has dark brown bark which peels in curling strips to show a pale undersurface and has deep green foliage with a whitish bloom. Flowering occurs in winter and spring and the flowers are large and pink to red in colour however white flowered plants are known. Flowers are followed by large "gumnuts" about 30mm in diameter. Eucalyptus caesia grows to about 6-9 m high. This plant is a food source and nesting site for birds.
