Clump forming, free flowering plant with lance-shaped basal leaves which are 1-5cm long. Leaves are green above and grey beneath. In summer, golden yellow flowerheads are produced with grey bracts. The plant is reasonably small, roughly 90cm by 90cm. Not seen as drought tolerant.
